Inaccurate Temperature Readings

Symptom: Readings seem unusually high, low, or inconsistent.

Steps to resolve

  1. Ensure the sensor is placed high in the centre of the armpit with full contact against bare skin, not clothing.
  2. Confirm the underarm area is clean and completely dry.
  3. Allow about 2 minutes after placement for the reading to become steady.
  4. Keep the arm pressed firmly against the torso during measurement.
  5. Avoid measuring immediately after bathing, feeding or physical activity — wait at least 30 minutes.
  6. Measure in a stable, draft-free environment, free of direct sunlight and heating or cooling airflow directed at the person.
  7. Allow the device and the person’s skin to stabilise at room temperature for several minutes if either has come from a very cold or hot place.
  8. Keep mobile phones and other electromagnetic sources at least 30 cm from the thermometer during the measurement.
  9. Check the device for damage and verify the battery status in the app.
  10. Always use the same armpit for consistent comparison.

Remember that this thermometer operates in direct mode: it reports the actual axillary measurement with no correction applied, so readings are not interchangeable with oral, rectal or tympanic values.

If readings remain inconsistent after following these steps, contact Baby FM support at support@babyfm.rs.
